This month we’re talking about Content Marketing.

Content marketing is a great way to share information in the form of videos, blogs and social media posts while linking back to your website to attract your target audience.

This year our content strategy is to build on the content on our website, which is why we’re creating a new blog post each month to bring you topical information that you should find interesting.

So this month, we wanted to delve deeper into content marketing and how this can benefit your business.

Social Media Content Marketing.

Each piece of content online is unique in how it’s written or created and for what audience and purpose it serves.

There are several ways to engage with your audience, such as creating something educational so your audience learns something new. Creating something emotional or entertaining that your audience can resonate with, or creating something socially interesting that your audience wants to share.

Social media posts are a great way to find your audience and link them back to your website, creating more content links and opportunities to view your website.

The key is making sure your content grabs your audience’s attention.

Blogging.

As there are billions of online users these days, it would be silly not to try and engage with some of them through your content.

Building trust with your audience is crucial, and you can do this through regular blogging on relevant topics. Still, the main benefit of blogging is to drive traffic back to your website through links and increase your organic SEO listing on Google.

So not only are you getting long term results for your website, you’re gaining the trust of your audience with the potential of converting them to customers, but you can also repurpose these blogs for social media posts. It’s a win-win.

Interactive Online Content.

A great way to find out who is seeing your content and engaging with it is to come up with some interactive content such as polls, quizzes and games.

These are good for capturing your audiences data, increasing your engagement rate and improving brand loyalty. Your audience will remember you if you provided them with something they could resonate with and will think of you when they require your product or services.

As mentioned previously, more content on your website creates more social media posts that can link back to your website while increasing your organic SEO.

Do you see the value in your images?

Besides capturing your audience’s attention and being visually attractive, there are many other benefits to using image content.

Your images need to be optimised not just for your user’s experience but also for the search engines. Images can create additional ranking opportunities, so don’t take them for granted.

Just a couple of tips:

– Ensure you compress your images so they don’t slow your website down; tinypng.com is excellent for this.

– Descriptive, keyword-rich file names are essential; this will tell Google and other search engines what the content of your image is,  giving your audience a better chance of finding your content.

– SEO friendly alt title tags are also beneficial for search engines, so pay attention to these too.

Images are more than just visually impactful; they can significantly impact your website’s overall ranking.

Case Studies & Reviews.

This type of content on your website is easy to produce when you have clients talk about and showcase the work you achieved for them. When visiting a website, potential clients like to see what you’ve been up to and who you’re working with, so providing case studies on your website can help them make decisions. For example, are you the right agency for them? This can also contribute to the organic content on your website when mentioning keywords and topics relevant to the viewer.

Reviews are slightly tricky but not impossible; if your clients are happy with your work, they will be more than happy to leave a review on your Facebook page or Google; there’s no reason why you can’t use this on your website. Potential clients will always look at your reviews to see what people are saying about you.

Summary.

There are so many ways to explore organic content on our website to drive traffic. Some we haven’t mentioned, such as video or vlogging, infographics, newsletters, interviews, reports, events and podcasts.

Investing time into your website can pay off; it is challenging when you’re setting up a new business, you instantly want work to showcase. It can be difficult at the beginning of a new business, but there are many ways here that you can bulk up your website content to improve your ranking and visibility online.
